“Everything changes with time”

This is a very common belief, and there is no two ways to this statement.

Things we saw, used, and talked by a few years ago have completely vanished from the place today. And the reason is nothing but revolution.

Everybody  is finding new and easy ways to do everything, and fishing is nothing like an exception. Though fishing has the same meaning even today, but the techniques that were used for fishing years before were quite different.

In ancient eras, go to fishing needs a few friends, a boat, net, and knowledge of where the fish pool was enough. However, today everything has changed. Friends have been replaced by fish finding devices, nets have been replaced by fishing rods, and plenty of similar things.

But things that were used earlier are never to be forgotten as they were incredible. Whether it was the fishing technique or nets they used; everything was just mind blowing.

If you dig deeper in the past,  fishing nets will draw our attention. They were made up of grass, and other such material at that time, and were quite useful in catching the prey. And today those similar nets have been replaced by that of nylon, eventually changing the meaning of fishing.

No matter how many fishing tools we use today and years later, fishing days of the past cannot be forgotten.

Still there are places where old fishing techniques are still practiced, and the best example is Seychelles. People know what is good and bad for their water bodies. They still have those nets, and follow the same way of catching fish because they know they are sustainable and for feeding people on land, only such kind of things are important.

In fact, the best part is, these people do not have to burn their pockets to buy the nets. These are available at such a pocket-friendly rate that nobody hesitates in getting. In simple words, they are lucrative, simple, and ideal for fishing.

Trend of fishing by using nets is being practiced since the stone age, and there are many people who are using this technique in various parts of the world. The only difference is in the net material as these are no more made up of natural materials like grass, roots and other fibers. These are light in weight, easy to carry, and easy to use to catch your prey. So, nothing can be much better than choosing this option for fishing in today’s era.

It is done in the same way as it was done earlier. The net is hauled into the surf, paddled 100 yards out and then parallel to the beach until their conscience told them to drop the central part of the net in the sea.

Net is fastened with ropes from each end with the help of which it is brought ashore about 200 yards apart. Each men hold the rope, and start pulling all together. It is a very big net as the weight of the prey is added to its original weight, which means a strong pull can only bring this back to the desired place.

As the net comes closer to the shore, you can see fishes jumping at the surface indicating that you have been successful in your journey. Slowly and steadily, it is dragged to the beach to set the fishing market.

This kind of fishing is quiet and completely free of nuisances and cries from the motorized devices. It is wonderful and productive which are the reason people still follow this procedure and live a healthy and happy life always.

So, from the above context, one thing is clear; no matter how much we grow, how much we develop; with sustainable practices, it is easier to maintain harmony and live a peaceful life together.

If you are looking forward to learn fishing, it is good to practice new technique so as to reap the maximum benefits. However, you should not forget to learn the old techniques as well as they not only do good to you but also to the ocean, which is actually the source of living for many people across the globe.
